I went for a walk, came back, and see that the Chat got super busy! I think this is a good Substack feature and can complement the comments that are on regular posts.
I think so too! It's sort of like tweeting but intimate, people can start conversations, broach topics. It's a smaller party. I have one of the heads of Substack in my studio as I type. I've told him that the difference between Twitter and Substack - or one of the many differences - is that Substackers feel as though they have some ownership (which of course we do, over content and also $$, if we choose to get paid and are lucky enough to get paid). I wonder if that's the experience, too, for the reader and listener. I think it must be, and of course it is, says this listener and reader of others' Substacks!
Yeah, that's right. I feel more comfortable commenting or chatting here, among a group of people who have already shown some commitment to the particular Substack, versus just throwing a tweet out on Twitter, as who knows what will happen "out there".
Agree, I don’t have a Twitter (honestly that world is a bit scary, so much potential for ruination!) and I enjoy the other Substack chats I’m on for the reasons you mentioned - feels more like chatting with a group of like minded people in a cafe.

Cool. I am going to keep at it! And maybe get Hepola over on the Smoke chat
