Tonner-Connolly believes that Biden is losing some American Muslim support because he supports Israel. That's likely true but there are other factors that are also likely true. Biden might have already been losing the support of more conservative American Muslims because of his social liberalism, especially regarding issues of sex, gender, and controversial books in schools. There are so many contradictions. There's video of a protest at the University of Washington where a Palestinian protestor calls a pro-Israel protestor "faggot" multiple times. And Biden might also be gaining the support of American Muslims immigrants who fled their countries because of religious and political persecution.

Agree with the other factors. People (tending to be liberal people) could not understand how the Latino vote tipped Trump in 2020. Latinos living on the southern border, Cubans who escaped Castro, many Catholics saw in Trump what they perceived (operative word: as a born and raised New Yorker, I've always seen him as a grifter) to be someone standing up for their values. Biden maintains a solid core of his Democratic base I think more out of inertia and because no one dynamic (please god not Newson) has emerged to challenge him. An interesting 12 months until election day.

Nancy, it is good journalism to present this person’s views. Though I cannot say I care for them (or him), I thank you for doing your job.

Thank you! I love my readers here. We are not always going to agree but why not know more about why we may not or even - gasp! - that we sometimes might xx

Good for you including different points of view. I support Israel and like most people deplore Hamas, and I don't know whether there was another choice besides the one Israel has made. But I do wish the measures that cause so much "collateral damage" would cease.

Am not buying into the simplistic rhetoric about genocide, etc., though. Palestinians and Muslims in general make no efforts toward peace, they are brainwashed and dominated by their extreme factions but, they made the choices that led to this moment. And the lack of nuance and one-sided views of the protesters are part of the problem. If you claim to be about peace, you must make the effort to understand both sides.
