Good luck and be safe, Nancy! My dream would be a trip with folks like Chaya Leah, Yael, and yourself. I hope you had a great holiday season and a happy new year. ❤️
Nancy, I am both worried and glad that you are going to Israel. Stay safe! You mentioned the Dead Sea -- do tourists still go there to float? I don't know anyone in Israel, but the person who has done the most podcasts I've ever listened to is there - Russ Roberts of Econtalk -- 500+. Smoke 'Em would be #2 at 100+. He would be a good interview, or would I'm sure have a good recommendation.
Thank you Mark. Yes, he’s amazing, I just listened to one about Israel the other day. Let’s see! Not sure about the Dead Sea but I expect it’s still floatable!
You should visit people who have been evacuated from the north because of Hezbollah and their constant rocket fire on that region. The focus of reporting has been almost entirely on Gaza and thoe Israelis who were evacuated from the Gaza envelope (for good reason) but what is and will happen in the north is a major issue.
Maybe visit a Druze community.
My suggestion would be Yossi Klein Halevi (in Jerusalem) whose podcast For Heaven's Sake is excellent.
Your reporting is so good. You have such a feel for the average person, and you write so beautifully.
Philip! Yes, I am planning to visit some evacuees and the hotels they have been relocated. And just this morning (...at 4am; sleep is weird these days) I decided to try to get to the Druze community, and also looked up a Druze restaurant here in NYC (there is one, with two locations on the Upper West Side), as for some reason I think food is a good way in. I'll be checking that out before I leave. xx

Yum! Yes I do. And I will x
You need to get a recipe for Israeli Schnitzel (with chicken)
More seriously, take care of yourself ❤️
