It’s an illustration for “Free Speech and Its Discontents: A Cautionary Tale.” In addition to Ileana Almog’s essay about growing up without free speech in Communist Romania, we have Matt Welch reading his piece about AOC and others pushing hard to censor big tech, and my “Dispatch from Portland: 2022,” checking in on the city, with Thomas Chatterton Williams visiting from Paris!
It was also something of Baseball Week at Paloma, including, “The Babe Ruth School of Baseball Film Series.”
And speaking of balls, this week's Beauty Marks included a video showing how baseballs are made, and a YouTube of MJ busting Kobe’s balls that is so beautiful.
And speaking of beauty, Persons of the Week included Shakira, Axl Rose, and Monica Vitti, whose haircut I just now had approximated on my own head.
