Hello Substackees, and thank you to everyone who has been following the “Dispatches from Ukraine,” of which there are eight here on Substack, three more over on Reason (1, 2, and 3!), a contribution to “Voices from Ukraine” on Bari’s Weiss’s Substack “Common Sense” and, most recently, an open letter to U.S. Representative Madison Cawthorn, asking that he back up his claim that Ukrainians are pushing “woke ideologies” and suggesting he not use someone's real war to fight the culture wars. Cawthorn yet to answer but, one can hope!

I’m back for a bit in NYC and got into the Paloma Media studio and recorded a few of the essays for you. Questions, comments, pats on the back and (paraphrasing “The History of the Americans” Jack Henneman) eruptions of outrage are always welcome.
