Jeez, it sounds like getting old is a horror show. Also a reminder that not everyone has your best interests at heart.

Heart breaking… fortunately or unfortunately my parents had no money to speak of and passed away relatively young. We have a friend locally here that’s 87 and he’s been taken a couple times for $7-8000 on some scheme where he bought that many gift cards to payoff a credit card or something like that his son just got power of attorney but it’s tough. I almost got nailed on a phishing scam when I got an email from Amazon (looked exactly like an Amazon email). Asking me to update some financial information. Fortunately, for no good reason, I deleted the email and logged into to the Amazon website to take care of it and only then did I realize that it was a phishing scam. I am 55 and consider myself to be an intelligent guy and they almost got me. The problem with all of this is it’s just going to get worse. Thanks for writing about your experience.
