First, an apology for not fulfilling the live-stream promised in the title of last night’s post. There were hundreds of people at The Free Press et al event, which took place in a massive double-loft, one side of which was crazy loud, with a wall of TV returns and food and drinks, the other, zoned for live taping so, unless we were on-air, we had to kind of whisper.
I did have the opportunity to sit with my Fifth Column boys, minus Moynihan, who was on hour 1,628 of straight taping, as well as Kat Rosenfield and Jesse Singal. That hour went fast and was super fun, tune in here; there’s video.
Speaking of Jesse, I am very taken with the post he just dropped. Here, a clip from We Are Losers:
The anti-Trump movement is a broken, ineffectual, frequently self-sabotaging mess that cannot be salvaged. It needs to be burnt down (NOT LITERALLY) and rebuilt into something more effective and less delusional. This movement consists of far too many individuals who, having gotten way too high on their own supply, have spent the last few years wandering around like zombies, chanting strange mantras and scaring the normie neighbors. They need to be taken by the arm and guided gently to the nearest comfy chair for a long, restorative rest while people whose eyes are less bloodshot take over.
The rebuilding is what I address after the fold, but as a teaser, here is what I think people need to stop doing.
Before I get to what seems a fairly obvious fix to the chasm media seem committed to spreading as wide as possible (a “second Civil War” article dropping the day before the election, anyone?), an analogous story: I have someone in my life for whom everything is a grudge match…
